I've noticed recently how inconvient the past can be. Sometimes the past is something unforgettable. Even if you want to forget it you can't. Those kinds of pasts can really get in the way. You wanna start fresh, make a relationship with someone, do something new, and yet the past is there like a moving road block getting in the way of progress at every turn.
Then again, sometimes all you wanna do is remember something; where you left your keys, that persons name you just met, what you studied all night long for a test, and yet you can't for the life of you remember. You have a great memory and you think to yourself "I'm never gonna forget this" and yet when the present gives way to the past the past decides what you will and will not remember.
Did it really happen that way? Is the past really what you think it is? You'll never know because it's in the past. Once it's gone who can really say what really happened? If you can forget where you set your keys five minutes ago, how can you be sure that someone really said something a few years ago?
The future can be scary and stop someone from doing something, and the present is all we have and is the only real judge of who we are right now, and yet the past is more powerful than both of those because the past can take away futures you might have had because of decisions you made in the past and the past can rob you of the present because of a past fear that prevents you from living in the moment and creating a new past to forget or remember forever.
I know I have a little bit of flawed logic in this. The past is also a great thing. You can learn from the past, you can have unforgettable good memories too. If not for the past you would make the same mistakes over and over again...wouldn't you?
So what's the point of all this? There is no point. Just some stuff that's been going through my head lately.
On a shorter note. Evasiveness.
Evasiveness leads to misunderstanding and misunderstanding can lead to bitterness and no one wants to be bitter over a misunderstanding just because someone wasn't forth right and decided to be evasive.
What a waste right? Spending so much time being bitter about someone or something over a misunderstanding. Possibly all because of someone elses "good intentions". Maybe they didn't wanna hurt your feelings so they were evasive in that conversation. Yet, because they weren't honest and decided to be evasive they left holes for you to fill in. You don't know better because they didn't tell you and so you grow bitter about assumptions you made. You can't be blamed for making assumptions. They left you there to make your own assumptions because they were evasive.
Just be honest. You may hurt someone in the short run, or you may not. You don't know. Honesty is always the best policy.
Anywho sorry to ramble. Just some random thoughts from a person who should probably get to bed.
